A Garden Concert:
Music & Nature in Harmony
Two titans of sound face off in a spectacular musical duel! Is the piano truly the “top of the hierarchy of instruments” as Franz Liszt proclaimed? Or does Mozart have the final word, declaring that “the organ is the king of instruments”? This thrilling program brings the rivalry to life. Each instrument will showcase its own signature repertoire, attempt bold transcriptions of each other’s music, and finally unite in a rarely-heard-and-seen duet! At the end of the night, you will decide: which instrument deserves the crown?

A Special Halloween Concert
"Here Comes the Carnival of the Animals"
Join us for A Garden Concert: Music & Nature in Harmony, an open-air concert in the beautiful garden of St. John in the Village. Experience a one-of-a-kind concert featuring the Katarina String Quartet, the current Juilliard Graduate Resident Quartet, and pianist Yang Liu. This magical performance will showcase Joseph Haydn's String Quartet Op. 50, No. 2, Judith's Weir String Quartet No. 2 "The Spaniard", and Robert Schumann's Piano Quintet, set against the backdrop of spring blossoms.
Step into a whimsical world of music, costumes, and imagination as Saint-Saëns's beloved Carnival of the Animals takes on a playful Halloween twist! Lions roar, kangaroos hop, fossils dance, and swans glide in this timeless musical sphere—brought to life with storytelling and festive surprises.
Perfect for families and the young at heart, this concert invites you to close out the Halloween weekend with laughter, wonder, and plenty of spooky fun. Costumes welcomed!

Chopin Festival

After a successful inaugural season of the concert series, the Ocean Music Foundation is opening the 2024-25 season with a festival commemorating the 175th anniversary of Frédéric Chopin's death on October 3-6, 2024.

International Piano Competition


A celebration of Chopin’s legacy like no other, the festival will feature acclaimed pianists and renowned piano pedagogues, including Jerome Lowenthal, Yoheved Kaplinsky, Yong Hi Moon, Melvin Chen, Yi-Yang Chen, Fei-Fei Dong, Albert Cano Smit, Jiayan Sun, and many others.
To commemorate the 175th anniversary of Chopin’s death, the Ocean Music Foundation is presenting the inaugural Ocean Music International Piano Competition devoted to Chopin’s works.
The competition will be held in New York City, October 3-6, 2024.
